Meschino Banana
Established in 1920, the Meschino Banana Company imports, ripens, monitors and controls the maturation of both bananas and plantains for retail and food service. We are located in Oshawa at the state-of-the-art Scarpro Distribution Centre, featuring fifteen banana ripening rooms.
A Brief History
Pasquale Meschino came to Canada in 1914. He started selling Jamaican Bananas on the streets of downtown Toronto out of a pushcart. In 1920, he established the Meschino Banana Company, a premium wholesaler which supplied hundreds of small stores in the city.
In time, Meschino was managed by Pasquale's son, Joe. Today, it is operated by Dominion Citrus. A few things have changed since the banana cart but the quality of the produce provided by the Meschino Banana Company is still unmatched.

The Meschino Banana Company strongly believes in community and contributes each year to local charities.
Products & Brands
In addition to our traditional Bananas, Organic Bananas, Plantains, Manzanos and Baby Bananas, Meschino also sells Mangos, Coconuts, Burros, Cassavas, Chayotes, Avocados and many other varieties of tropical exotic fruits and vegetables.
